SAU Radio Volunteer Training Group

Spring Arbor University students interested in learning about the radio station can apply to be part of the SAU Radio Volunteer Training Group to learn the behind-the-scenes and on-air aspects of radio as a group on our student radio station, 89.3 The Arbor.

This volunteer training group includes students of all majors campus-wide. Students in this group may have an opportunity to work on our flagship radio station when student positions become available in the future.

  1. Complete an online application (below).
  2. We’ll contact you to initiate an audio tryout.
  3. Record your Open Audio Tryout with radio staff at SAU Radio.

    1. No experience necessary. Our staff will guide you through your audio tryout. This process will take about 10 minutes.

We are currently accepting applications for our Fall 2021 & Spring 2022 Training Groups.

This training group is limited to current Spring Arbor University undergraduate students only.

*** Students who participate in the volunteer training group are not guaranteed an on-air or paid position with SAU Radio following their training group experience. Each student is individually evaluated and will receive guidance on future participation at the discretion of management. The typical weekly commitment includes a 1-hour meeting, and between 1-3 hours of additional volunteer time.

Current Spring Arbor University undergrad students (of any major) can complete an internship (or practicum time) at SAU Radio. We can offer internship or practicum experiences in a variety of areas – radio is very broad. Whether it’s social media, on-air experience, sales, production, marketing or interviewing, there may be a place for you at 89.3 The Arbor.

Internships are currently limited to current Spring Arbor University undergraduate students only. Not all internship requests will be fulfilled, and are at the discretion and availability of SAU Radio staff availability, expertise and overall fit for a quality experience.

Internships are not a paid experience at SAU Radio, but can fulfill required practicum and internship requirements.
